GCF E-Bulletin for Friday, May 9, 2025
*Note Regarding Church Emails:
With the ever-changing electronic world, we need to adjust how we send out our e-bulletins. We have a decent-sized e-bulletin contact list, which has its downside. If a big enough percentage of the e-bulletins don’t get opened, they eventually get marked as spam and end up being blocked by people’s email providers (mainly by Google and Yahoo). To avoid having the church's email address keep getting put on the block list, we are transitioning to a web-based e-bulletin. It will still be available weekly by 10 am on Friday mornings, but you will have to go to the e-bulletin page on our website to view it.
Birthdays will no longer be included in the e-bulletin since that is of a more personal nature.
If you would still like to receive a weekly email from the church (and you can commit to opening it on a regular basis), let me know. I will send out an email with the link to the e-bulletin webpage to those who still want it delivered to their inbox.
Prayer requests will also transition to the website, but emails will still be sent out letting you know when a new prayer request has been added. Please make sure to open those emails! This information will be password protected to ensure that requests stay within our church body. When this is set up, we will share the password with each prayer request that is sent out. You will be able to see current prayer requests in the body as well as how God has worked in previous requests. *We ask that you do not share the prayer request password.
To ensure you do receive essential emails from the church, please make sure to add secretary@gcfchurch.net to your contact list and mark it as “not spam”.
If you would like to be removed from any of our email lists, please unsubscribe by using the link under my signature rather than deleting/blocking our emails.
*Communion Sunday: We will celebrate communion as a body this Sunday.
*Bruce & Joy Frank Farewell: Join us as we bid farewell to Bruce and Joy Frank, who will be moving to Wisconsin to live near family. Come May 14, for a cake and coffee reception in the upper room at GCF, from 7 to 9 pm. No gifts, please.
*Ministries Breaking for Summer: As we approach the summer months, we wanted to communicate which ministries will be taking a break and which ones will continue through the summer.
Our women’s Bible studies will be on break until sometime in September.
Our men’s fellowship group will also be off for the summer.
YJAM just finished their year with the concert on Wednesday. They will start back up at the start of the next school year.
The youth group will continue through May with their normal schedule, then they will meet a few times over the summer at Hager Park with a couple of other special events sprinkled in.
Growing in Love Marriage group is off for the summer.
Our other ministries (Young at Heart Life Group, Meerman Life Group, Night of Prayer) will continue through the summer unless otherwise noted.
*Baby Dedication: We will be having a “baby” dedication on June 8th, during the service. If you have a child/children that you would like to dedicate, please contact secretary@gcfchurch.net. We will need the name, date of birth, parents’ names, and two pictures of each child that is getting dedicated.
*2025 Graduates: We would like to acknowledge and pray for our graduating seniors (both high school and college) during our service on June 15th. If you have a 2025 graduate, please email Kim at secretary@gcfchurch.net with your graduate's name and a photo.
*Church Camp: Camp is coming up! The dates of our annual Family Church Camp are June 20-22. Signups will begin soon.
