GCF Salt and Light is a ministry of Georgetown Christian Fellowship. Much of the material presented is obtained from Salt and Light Council (SLC), which draws from many sources not affiliated with GCF.  Although the material is reviewed by GCF Salt and Light coordinators or pastors, some material may contain interpretations of Scripture that do not align with what is taught at GCF.

In addition, many ministries provide resources for SLC.  Some of the resources are produced by churches and organizations that may have differences in doctrine from GCF.  Our use of the resource should not be seen as an endorsement of the organization that produced it.

At GCF we teach our body that they must be Berean in their attitude toward any material presented to them, even as preached from our pulpit.  Acts 17:10-15 “Examine the Scripture daily to see if these things are true.”  GCF Salt and Light co-ordinators may at times disclaim certain parts of the material presented, and we will treat it as an opportunity for us to discuss the truth.

If you are ever troubled by material presented during the GCF Salt and Light events, we encourage you to respectfully ask for clarity during the discussion time, or talk later with GCF's pastoral representative who is present.

These meetings are not meant to be a forum for political debate but rather a way for GCF teachers to make the body aware of the challenges we face in the society we live in as well as present challenging truth and steps of action that we as citizens of Heaven can apply. 1 Corinthians 14:40 “All things must be done properly and in an orderly manner.”

GCF Salt and Light is designed to spur one another on in understanding our culture and provide practical actions we can take to influence it as Christians. In our conversations with one another, even in discussing areas of disagreement, have an attitude of mutual edification and love for one another.  James 3:5 “See how great a forest is set aflame by such a small fire.”  Ephesians 4:29 "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen."
