The Attributes of God (Part 1)

Self-Existent, Self-Sufficient, Infinite

2 Peter 2:1-2 (NIV)

But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought themóbringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.

John 5:26 (Amplified)

For even as the Father has life in Himself and is self-existent, so He has given to the Son to have life in Himself and be self-existent.

Exodus 3:14-15 (Amplified)

And God said to Moses, I AM WHO I AM and WHAT I AM, and I WILL BE WHAT I WILL BE; and He said, You shall say this to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you!

God said also to Moses, This shall you say to the Israelites: The Lord, the God of your fathers, of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has sent me to you! This is My name forever, and by this name I am to be remembered to all generations.

Acts 17:24-25 (Amplified)

The God Who produced and formed the world and all things in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in handmade shrines.

Neither is He served by human hands, as though He lacked anything, for it is He Himself Who gives life and breath and all things to all [people].

Romans 11:35-36 (Amplified)

Or who has first given God anything that he might be paid back or that he could claim a recompense?

For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. [For all things originate with Him and come from Him; all things live through Him, and all things center in and tend to consummate and to end in Him.] To Him be glory forever! Amen (so be it).

Isaiah 40:13-15 (Amplified)

Who has directed the Spirit of the Lord, or as His counselor has taught Him? With whom did He take counsel, that instruction might be given Him? Who taught Him the path of justice and taught Him knowledge and showed Him the way of understanding? Behold, the nations are like a drop from a bucket and are counted as small dust on the scales; behold, He takes up the isles like a very little thing.

Isaiah 40:17 (Amplified)

All the nations are as nothing before Him; they are regarded by Him as less than nothing and emptiness (waste, futility, and worthlessness).

Job 35:5-8 (Amplified)

Look to the heavens and see; and behold the skies which are higher than you.

If you have sinned, how does that affect God? And if your transgressions are multiplied, what have you done to Him?

If you are righteous, what do you [by that] give God? Or what does He receive from your hand?

Your wickedness touches and affects a man such as you are, and your righteousness is for yourself, one of the human race [but it cannot touch God, Who is above such influence].
